The PTA is looking for someone to step into our Garden Coordinator role!
Help organize work parties to clean up and maintain the garden, oversee summer maintenance, and more. Anticipated time commitment is about 1 hour per week or less.
This position’s main tasks include:
- Bring garden needs to PTA attention and act as a liaison between PTA, Garden Educator, and school.
- Coordinate garden involvement in relevant school events (such as the Harvest Festival and Science Night).
- Communicate with teachers, volunteers, and Garden Educator to ensure lessons are scheduled and have adequate coverage. Meet regularly with the Garden Educator.
- Organize work parties in the Fall and Spring to clean up the garden.
- Order compost and mulch for the garden and request tools and supplies from the District Self-Help department.
- Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to set up SignUp Genius sign ups for garden lessons and summer watering/maintenance schedule.
- Oversee summer garden maintenance and ensure volunteers have access to supplies and an understanding of upkeep needed.
- Help maintain the garden.
