Support our community – Donate to your local food bank

It continues to be unclear when families will receive SNAP benefits, and local food pantries are already seeing record high visits. If you are able, consider supporting our community by donating food or financial support to your local food bank. We have included some ideas of organizations that serve our community:

Ballard Food Bank

Family Works

North Helpline

Mary’s Place

If your student or family is in need of resources or support, please reach out to our school social worker Erin Kehoe emkehoe@seattleschools.org. You can also search for local food banks using Hunger Free Washington  and other local resources by zip code at FindHelp.org, or by calling 2-1-1 or going to 211.org

Don’t forget to turn in your ballots TODAY!

Four of 7 school board seats are up for election this year, so your vote really matters! Friends of HiCap Seattle has compiled a list of candidate responses on a variety issues from various organizations if you are still deciding.  Its too late for the mail, so make sure you put it in a ballot drop box
