Join us for the Cascadia PTA’s Friday Family Movie Night this Friday, March 31st. Closing out Women’s History Month (March) we’re hosting a screening of the Pixar classic “Brave”. This empowering tale is not your typical “princess movie” and is rated 8+ by Common Sense Media. The first Pixar movie to revolve around a female main character, Brave has a strong message about family relationships and open communication between parents and kids (particularly mothers and daughters). While there is no romance for Princess Merida, parents should be aware this movie is rated PG and there are a few jokes about men being naked under their kilts; a couple of scenes even include quick glimpses of naked cartoon bums belonging to men and three young boys. Maybe more importantly though, Brave is a moving story of two strong women (mother and daughter) that models important skills like communication, courage, and self-control.
Come join your classmates for a cozy good time on Friday, March 31. Siblings are of course welcome! Bring blankets and pillows to cozy up on the gym floor for the movie. Low-backed chairs are welcome *in the back* near the bleachers so as to not block the views of those behind, but bring a towel or blanket so they don’t scuff the floors. The Commons will open at 5:30pm for families that want to bring their dinner to eat there (no food or drink in the gym, please). Movie starts at 6:15 pm.
Enter the building through the Commons doors. The main entrance will be locked.
