Mysteries and Methods talk by Heather L. Montgomery
Tuesday, May 4, 2021 5pm on Zoom

Science detectives track down answers to nature’s mysteries — poop-shooting caterpillars, freaky frogs,
brain-slurping bugs — or at least they try. Heather Montgomery, author of Who Gives a Poop:
Surprising Science from One End to the Other, will help students “get” the scientific method as they
engage in a mystery themselves. Students will pose questions, make hypotheses, examine experiments,
analyze data, and experience surprise!

Owl Pellet Dissection led by Ms. Cynthia Fitzsimmons
Wednesday, May 12, 2021 12:45 pm during community meeting on MS Teams

What was once an owl’s feast and regurgitated out its mouth is now your world of discovery. Ms.
Fitzsimmons, our very own 5th grade teacher, will help guide students through their own owl pellet dissection they will be doing from home. Supplies will be provided by teacher (in-person students) or at library pickup on May 5 from 8:30-3:30 (remote students).
