A helpful parent submitted the following tips for using the FirstView app for real-time bus tracking.
Reminder: You can get real-time bus tracking via the FirstView App
Available on Google Play, Apple App Store, and Desktop
To create an account, use the district code: YD5N
The app can be a little confusing. You need to add both an AM and a PM route. To do this, search for your bus number without leading zeros and add every route that appears. For example, in 683, you may see numbers like 7205-0683-0534 in AM and the 7205-0683-0534, and possibly 7205-0683-0534-MTRF, and 7205-0683-0534-W in PM. Add *all* of them. Note: Last week most routes had 4 entries with MTRF and W broken out but they have updated it this week. Just always add every route that matches.
Quirks:
* The AM routes disappear from the UI in the afternoon.
* The “map” functionality is only active when the route is going.
* Sometimes it forgets your login info and you have to re-log in.
* Sometimes it looks like it forgot your child’s routes. Before reentering, go to “Profile”. Find your child’s name. Open it up and you will likely see all routes you added. Scroll to the bottom and hit “done” again to force it to remember.
For more detailed help on getting set up, these directions might still be relevant from last year, although the app name itself has changed.
