1000% Me: Growing up Mixed – Film Screening & Discussion

Join mixed-race children and their families for a screening of the film 1000% Me: Growing up Mixed, followed by a child-centered facilitated discussion. In the film, W. Kamau Bell tackles the joys and challenges of growing up mixed-race through conversations with kids and families. Bell explores how young people navigate issues of identity in a world that can ask them to pick a side and reveals the many joys and complexities of what it means to raise multiracial children.
This event is for mixed-race children (in Grade 3 and above) and their families.
Register for this event. Pizza dinner will be provided. Free childcare is available for younger children ages 3 and older, provided by the Whittier Kids Program.
This film screening and discussion is facilitated by the Whittier PTA EDI Committee and open to all families in the community.
