Incredible News About Cascadia’s Future as an HCC School

Dear Cascadia Families,

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) sent out an email yesterday informing families that Cascadia will remain a Highly Capable Cohort (HCC) school with Grades 2 through 5 for the next three years. This means that our school will no longer be losing Grade 2 next year as SPS had previously planned.

Huge THANK YOUs to all of our Cascadia families for advocating on this issue! Without our advocacy, this change in SPS’ plans could not have happened.

A few things to note for the coming years:

  • All students who are at Cascadia currently or who join Cascadia in the next three years are guaranteed the ability to graduate from Cascadia in Grade 5.
  • When a student graduates from Cascadia, they will have the option to attend their HC cohort pathway middle school and remain on the two year advanced math track through high school.

Go Dragons!
