Cascadia Friday night movies returns with “The Secret Life of Pets 2” This cute and silly sequel picks up where the first film leaves off and finds the protagonist, a terrier named Max, grappling with issues of anxiety and identity. (Sounds like a new school year to me!) Variety.com noted that while this sequel has plenty of slapstick, it also “shows characters demonstrating bravery and facing challenges head-on.” Common Sense Media rates this one as best for ages 7+ and notes “The dark humor and peril are toned down from the original, with more of a shift to slapstick violence that’s meant to be funny.”
Come join your classmates for a cozy good time on Friday, Sept 27th. Siblings are of course welcome! Bring blankets and pillows to cozy up on the gym floor for the movie. Low-backed chairs are welcome in the back but bring a towel or blanket so the don’t scuff the floors. The Commons will open at 5:30pm for families that want to bring their dinner to eat there (no food or drink in the gym, please). Movie starts at 6:15 pm.
Enter the building through the Commons doors. The main entrance will be locked.
Note: This is not a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
