What does my donation support?

Providing funding and volunteer support for a wide variety of school activities and events throughout the year, your donations to the Cascadia PTA supplement district salary allocations by fully or partially funding several staff positions. In the 2018-2019 school year, these will include:

  • Instrumental Music Teachers
  • Additional Librarian Hours
  • Counselor
  • Recess Monitors

Additionally, Cascadia PTA supports core programming that we believe is essential to the success of our school. These programs are designed to enhance the core curriculum with expanded learning opportunities. In 2018-2019, Cascadia PTA will be funding:

Garden Program

Third graders harvest, plant, and care for the school garden in an integrated program run by our Garden Educator, Rowan.

Instrumental Music

Fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to take instrumental music lessons during school hours and put on a great performance to share their progress.

Drama

Fifth graders study and perform Shakespeare plays with the help of an fabulous drama teacher, Heather Hawkins.  The 1st through 4th graders get to experience several different Shakespeare performances, put on by the 5th grade.

Reflections Art Contest

Run by the National PTA, students may submit works of art based on a common theme. Lots of fun, and finalists will see their work displayed at Seattle Center!

Grants to Teachers

Our teachers are the heart of our school. Grants to fund teacher projects in the school are available because of PTA donations.

Remember, we hold only one fundraising drive per year to make this possible. Please watch out for your family’s red envelope in the first months of the school year, and give generously to make this school year successful for our kids.
