Call for video submissions for the Lunar New Year assembly:
Kids and families are invited to make a 60-second (or less) video about how they celebrate Lunar New Year. Ten of these videos will be played during the Cascadia community meeting on February 12. Priority will be given to 5th-grade students, as it may be one of the last opportunities to participate in a Cascadia community meeting. For an example of a successful video presentation, please click here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jwyaj49oqt8w77r/Hinamatsuri1.mp4?dl=0
This sample video was made with iMovie, using still photos and a script for narration. The audio was recorded separately and last. If your student would like to contribute a Lunar New Year video, please submit either a finished video or the following two items by February 4 (9 pm):
1 – A PowerPoint Presentation with no more than 12 slides.
2 – A written down script to accompany each photo slide.
A few parent volunteers will help 5th-grade students put together their videos the week of February 5. Students in other grades will have in-school help, only if there are enough volunteers.
Please email submissions, questions, and offers to volunteer to inclusion@cascadiapta.org.
