Music Board Members Needed for 2018-2019
Would you like to help ensure that our kids can continue to make beautiful music at Hamilton? The Friends of Music at Hamilton International (FOMAHI) Board is looking for members to join us for the 2018-19 school year. It is a great way to help support our unique program, without a lot of time commitment. These positions are vital to keep our program strong. Don’t let our program wither! Nominating Committee for the PTSA Board – Volunteers Needed
The Hamilton PTSA Board is actively forming a nominating committee to help fill empty seats on next year’s board. Right now we are looking for people to serve on the nominating committee. This commitment would include networking to find people whose interest and skills would best match board positions, attending one feeder elementary PTA meetings, and probably two additional meetings. The position on the nominating commitment should be completed by May 1st. Robert Eagle Staff MS

The Eagle Staff Jazz Band invites you to attend its first annual Swing Dance on June 8.

In hopes of making this event a yearly tradition, the Jazz Band will showcase their skills and talent in a culminating 1st annual Swing Dance Night, a night full of swinging and dancing! This event will feature the Robert Eagle Staff Middle School Jazz Band and the Chief Sealth International High School Jazz Band. Professional swing dance lessons will be provided at 5:30PM and a potluck-style dinner will be provided to promote a family-style environment. The event is free to the public (donations are welcome at the door) and will run from 6-8PM. Let’s swing the night away!


Eagle Staff New Student Orientation – Save the Date
Mark your calendar: orientation for Eagle Staff 6th graders will be held on Thursday August 30, 9-12. This is part of our WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program.


URGENT NEED FOR PTSA VOLUNTEERS
If you are interested in serving on next year’s PTSA board or want to recommend possible candidates, please email the nominating committee at nominations@eaglestaffptsa.org. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to contribute your time and talents to the Eagle Staff community and to work more closely with out great students, parents, faculty, and staff. Estimated time commitment: 1–2 meetings per month with various other responsibilities.


Eagle Staff Ultimate Frisbee Camp – July 30 – Aug 3
We are excited to host an Eagle Staff ultimate frisbee camp on our beautiful new school field this summer, taught by experienced players and coaches! This will be a great way for new students to try a new sport (ultimate frisbee is an official SPS fall sport) and meet other Ravens.

When: July 30th-August 3rd
Time: 9am-3pm
Location: Eagle Staff Playfield
Who: Eagle Staff students – entering 6th graders through graduating 8th graders
Cost: $310 – scholarships & financial aid available

Upcoming Events
Talented Eagle Staff students will be performing Alice in Wonderland Jr. (a musical) on May 3rd @ 7pm, May 4th @ 7pm, and May 5th @ 4pm and 7pm. Open to the public. Robert Eagle Staff Middle School Stage. Suggested donation $10/person or $20/family.

Eagle Staff’s marching band, the Marching Ravens, along with our Hip Hop squad and Dancing Ravens will be performing in Ballard’s Syttende Mai parade. Come and cheer on the Marching Ravens!


New-Student/Families Social
Incoming students and families are invited to attend a new student social on Tuesday, June 5, 5:30-7:30pm at Eagle Staff MS. Meet other students, learn about the school, connect with PTSA, find out about sports and music and other activities, and have some refreshments. See you there!


“Ask a Student” Panel
We will host an evening “Ask a Student” panel in early May as well (that parents can attend). Date TBD (early May).

STEAM Fair
Jane Addams Middle School would like to invite you to our 3rd annual STEAM Fair (especially incoming 6th graders).

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Science.

Thursday May 3rd
6:30-8 pm

Student science projects and artwork, community presenters and a free taco buffet.
ALL ARE WELCOME, event is free

The fun will include high school robotics teams, the Museum of Flight, Seattle ReCreative, a movie room showing Eames Science videos, mushroom identification, ABO blood typing-Genetics basics, emergency preparedness and lots of wonderfully original student work.

Come eat, learn and wonder with our dynamic JAMS community.
