2017-2018 2nd grade events

Picnic, Carkeek Park
We will be having a family picnic for our class on Sunday, June 24, 4pm at Carkeek Park!! This will be a super fun way to end the school year.

I have reserved several picnic tables, so we have plenty of space for everyone! There are grills available for use and we will be doing a potluck style bbq. There is a Sign up genius for the potluck. We have tables 18-26 reserved (map here).

Please feel free to bring activities like frisbees, sidewalk chalk, water balloons, etc. for the kids to use.

Guided Nature Hike

When:  3/18/18, 10 am
Discovery park loop walk 2.8 miles
Meet at the south parking lot off of Emerson Street in Magnolia

Ice Skating

Second grade families please join us for ice skating on February 10, 12:30-1:30 (Note: updated time) at Highland Ice Arena!

We have an ice rink reserved just for second graders and their families! Skate rentals are $4.00. We hope to see you there!

List of second grade events: Save the date!

  • October 2, 5-8pm: Playdate SEA (free)
  • November 16, 6-8pm: game night in the school cafeteria. Kids bring games to share, potluck dinner
  • February 10, 12:30-1:30: ice skating at Highland Ice Area
  • March 18, 10am-noon: guided nature walk at Discovery Park
  • May 10, 6pm: picnic and ice cream making at Licton Springs Park

So I want to start off the year with our first 2nd grade event which will be a playdate at Playdate seattle. Admission is normally $12 a child but is free after 5PM on Monday. Place is near REI. There is street parking which can be hit or miss but I usually have parked at REI and walked the three blocks over.

1275 Mercer St, Seattle, WA, 98109

You can sign a waiver at the time or print it out and bring it at the time.

Kids will need to have socks in order to play in the play area. Unfortunately no outside food is allowed.

This is great opportunity for kids to come and play with their classmates and parents to hang out. Hope we have a great turnout.
