Welcome back to another great school year! Cascadia Dragons love to read and all classes have had a chance to come in and check out books this week. Students in first grade can check out up to three books at a time and students in other grades can check out five. I’m happy to announce that I will be at Cascadia five days a week this year so students will have more consistent access to both the books and myself as a resource. This fall we will learn about how our library is organized and how to navigate and utilize our library database to support our reading and learning needs.
I am also happy to announce that Cascadia families now have access to SchoolPay so families can pay for lost books from home with a credit card. Some students have fines from other Seattle Public Schools and those can be taken care of through SchoolPay as well. Simply log into “The Source” and click on SchoolPay on the left hand side. https://ps.seattleschools.org/public/
Additionally, I’m always looking for volunteers in the library. I would love help with checking in books each mornings and shelving books throughout the day. It is fun to help students locate books and check them out, too! There are also library tasks such as stamping books, adding bar codes and spine labels and repairing books. If you’re interested, please contact me at email@example.com or sign up directly: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A48AAA922A0FB6-volunteer.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions at all. I look forward to collaborating with you this your on your student’s education.
